About the Celebration

A Heritage in Song

As a cultural heritage, choral music is a vital part of many cultures, reflecting their histories, traditions and values. It often serves as a way to pass down stories and customs through generations, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.

Choral music is usually sung by a choir with each part being sung by two or more voices. It is part of our heritage as Ghanaians.

Choral music serves as a tourist attraction and is one of the most unique attractions any country can have in terms of promoting tourism — hence it should be promoted as a cultural attraction. Ghana, recognized for its legendary involvement in research and musical education through its many universities and music schools, deserves to recognize those actors who sustainably devote their knowledge and energy to this artistic diversity.

“The concert highlights the voices that shaped Ghana’s past, the voices that define its present, and the voices that will carry it into the future.”
